Stabler, Jack, C. Et Al. / Saskatchewan'S Communities In The 21St Century
Details
This report traces the evolution of Saskatchewan's trade centre system from 1961 to 2001. The events summarized emphasize a continuous extension of the geographic framework within which people live their everyday lives. In the process, the concept of community, as a functional entity, has evolved from village or town to a region large enough to satisfy everyday requirements of rural dwellers. Reorganization focussed on creating efficient government jurisdictions, institutions and infrastructure through the use of new knowledge is required in order for the province to successfully navigate the highly competitive world of the 21st century.
